This quintessential mid-century ranch is a study in the dreamy so cal indoor/outdoor lifestyle. The 1968 home located under the canopies of mature oaks in an estate neighborhood was designed and built by architect Petrie Wilson for her young family. We respectfully yet firmly renovated and expanded by relocating the kitchen to open to the great room, replacing all the doors and windows, opening up a new bedroom hallway, expanding a garage wing, and adding a 2-story bedroom suite. The end result is casually drop-dead gorgeous. Interior Design: Rozalynn Woods Interior Design | Photos: Peter Valli
We had so much fun working with our savvy clients on the renovation of their summer family retreat. The main living spaces are upstairs, allowing us to maximize the ever-changing New England light, especially in the new kitchen and living spaces. Velvety honed marble countertops, antique unlacquered brass accents, and a paint palette inspired by the sea make these spaces truly special. Builder: Will Gorman, WillCo. This charming home got a whole new lease on life after we basically tore off the whole back of the house. We pay a lot of attention to scale, proportion, ceiling treatments, moldings, details, and materials, so major renovations like this one have a seamless connection with the original 1920’s house. Welcoming, sophisticated, and fresh, this home balances the contemporary notions of open spaces with the traditions of time-honored architectural details and materials.
